Somali: A convey of AU troops comes under explosion in Mogadishu

A convoy of African Union Peacekeepers in the Somalia capital has on Monday morning came under attack on the industrial street in the north of Mogadishu.

This convoy of the Africn Uniuon troops was heading to their garrison at the former comrade Siyad academy which.

 

“The vehicles which the has ran over the hidden landmine has totally turned to ashes, and the explosion was so big that it could wakeup a dead person, and instantly after the explosion the troops which were from the Burundian battalion in Mogadishu opened heavy fire in

vicinity around the area where their vehicle has came under the explosion” said Noor Ahmed a donkey raider who has narrowly escaped the fire opened by the fuming Burundian troops speaking to Somaliweyn radio.


The spokesman of the Burundian troops in Mogadishu has as well verified the explosion in which one of their military trucks has came under, but said that yet there are no casualty reports from the boys whose convoy came under the blast. So far no faction has claimed the responsibility of the landmine blast targeted at the Burundian troops on Monday.

 

Since their arrival in Somalia the only two African countries in Somalia have experienced several attacks such suicide attacks in which the latest has occurred on the 17th of November 2009 in which more than 15 military personnel were killed including the second in Command of the African Union troops in Somalia.
