The police of the semi-autonomous region of
Puntland in eastern Somalia have arrested the executive director
of the Ministry of information Ukun Abdi Aziz.

When the arrest of Mr. Ukun was taking place he was accompanied
by the radio director of Galkayo Hassan Jama Jidka, and was
driving in a luxury car.
When Waagacusub Journalists on the ground
decided to reach the officials of Puntland about the arrest
of the executive director of the Ministry of information they
have took a rain check to give comments, but the arrest of
the executive director of the Ministry of information was
verified for Waagacusub by the radio director of Galkayo Mr.
Hassn Jama Jidka.
The arrest of Ukun Abdi Aziz will part of
the brutality action against the journalists which are in
puntland state carried out the Puntland police who are getting
command from the top officials of Puntland.
Some independent reports say that Mr. Ukun
was arrest because of talking at length the viciousness action
which Puntland authority has recently been practicing against
the journalists who are working under its administration,
and the latest was the arrest of Mohamed Yasiin who was illegitimately
arrest on Tuesday.
In the last 24 hours the administration of
Puntland state has arrested 4 journalists who are famous in
the region.
The other ordinary person who was arrested
within this week is Abdi Noor Gesey the former district commissioner
of north Mudug region.
