Al-Shabab martyrs closedown 2 independent radio stations in
Bay region

The Islamic Movement of Al-Shabab in Bay
region in southern Somalia has on Wednesday morning issued
a decree, to shutdown the entire of the independent local
radio stations in the southern town of Baidoa the capital
of Bay region in southern Somalia.
The decree from the high officials of Al-Shabab
says that Jubbah and Warsan radio stations the only operating
local radio stations are closedown.
This is what is written in the decree latter;
We are hereby informing the administration
of Warasan and Jubbah radio stations to shutdown their radio
station, till further notice, and this order will be effective
as from today Wednesday the 21st of October 2009 at 7:00am,
and whichever radio station dares to violate the instruction
and airs its progarammes will see the consequences
This decree comes at a time when the administration
of Al-Shabab has recently detained some of the staff of these
two local radio stations, after they have turned deaf ears
to instruction given by Al-Shabab movement.
The Islamic Movement of Al-Shabab faction
monitors the programmes of the entire radio stations in Somalia
particularly in the south including the capital Mogadishu.
