Somalia: Fears fighting
between Islamists in the outskirts of Kismayo
Mogadishu Monday 5 October 2009 Shaaficiyah Media

Despite the fact that there was an atmosphere
of tranquility in the west of the southern seaport town of
Kismayo, where there has been clashes between Al-Shabab martyrs
and Hizbul-Islam overnight, fighting has erupted in the early
hours of Monday morning.
The officials of the two warriors have averted
the media about the fighting which has taken place today in
the suburbs of Kismayo town.
There were casualties of civilians which were
on Monday taken to the biggest hospital of Kismayo, after
having been wounded in the fire between the two Islamists
factions.
So far there is no arbitration team which
is involved in the deadly combat between the two Islamists
factions.
The two groups are ideologically sharing the
same concept that is to fight against the Somali Federal Government
and the African Union Peacekeepers on the ground, but are
fighting over the governing of the southern strategic seaport
town of Kismayo the third largest city in Somalia, which is
also famous for its agricultural products.
