Fighting between the Somali government soldiers
and armed Islamists who are greatly against the legitimate
Somali government has on Tuesday taken place at Abdul Aziz
and Shibis districts in Mogadishu.
The fighting was in action for more an hour
and both sides have exchanged different kinds of weaponries,
such as heavy and light machineguns and as well as rocket
propel grenades.
There is death casualties which the
ordinary civilians in these districts have sustained though
the actual figure is not apparent. This battle of today has
caused new cases of Internal Displaced People.
The city has been tranquil for the last one
week after the main two Islamists groups the Al-Shabab Martyrs
and Hizbul-Islam have turned arms against each other.
Mogadishu has been a city of frequent battles
between rival factions since Somalia has lost its last effective
central government in led by late dictator Mohammed Siyad
Barre in 1991.
