Somalia: New militants
of Hizbul-Islam join Somali government

Reliable reports from Bondere districts in
Mogadishu, a stronghold of Hizbul-Islam says that new militants
of Hizbul-Islam which is one of the strong rivals of the current
Somali Transitional Federal Government led by President Sheikh
Shariff Sheikh Ahmed have on Saturday joined the Somali government.
The Somali government and that of Hizbul-Islam
were in trenches which were in range wise close, and after
a negotiation with the Somali government the forces of Hizbul-Islam
have joined the Somali government soldiers, and the two forces
are intermingle, and are exchanging laughers, and these militants
will meet their fellow Hizbul-Islam militants who have some
few days ago joined the Somali government
said the officer leading these militants of Hizbul-Islm who
have joined the Somali government on Saturday in condition
of anonymity to Somaliweyn radio.
This officer has evaded to say the exact number of these militants
with him, but declared that they are from now onwards Somali
government soldiers, and will wholeheartedly support the Somali
government soldiers in power and in logistically.
In the beginning of October there had been
severe clashes between the two strongest opponents of the
Somali government (Al-Shabab martyrs and Hizbul-Islam over
the control of the southern seaport town of Kismayo 500km
south of Mogadishu the Somali capital, although Sheikh Hassan
Dahir Aweys the Chairman of Hizbul-Islam has said that there
is negotiation between them and Al-Shabab, which is underway
