Somalia: Tribal clashes leave 8 dead in Somalia

Clashes between two tribes have sparked on Saturday morning in the territory between Hiran and middle Shabelle regions in southern Somalia.

The fighting exactly occurred at Qoryale village in the suburbs of Jalalaqsi district in Hiran region.

“Tribal militants have on Saturday morning carried out vendetta attacks in some parts of Hiran region, and as we know 10 people mostly the warring sides

have died in the clashes, and over 15 were wounded, and the situation in the area where the combat occurred is now rather cool, after the attackers have returned to their respective areas, there are fears that there will be reprisal attacks which is expected to come from the side of the attacked militants, but we as the elders in the region we shall do all means and ways to intervene the situation and return everything to normal” said elder Ali Ahmed a resident in Jalalqsi district speaking to Somaliweyn radio.

Some reports from the ground also says that there has been longstanding vendetta between the two tribes, and several comprises were reached and all have been violated.
