Unidentified men have overnight hurled grenade at the house of ex-mayor Adan Abdi Isse known as Adan (Garaso) in Baladweyn town the headquarters of Hiran region in central Somalia.

So far 4 of his security guards are reported to have been wounded in the grenade attack, but not serious as such and are now undergoing treatment at Baladweyn main hospital.

“I will be following up who was behind the attack in my house, and I am sure I will bring them before the judge, it is not easy thing I am repeating again I will not spare who was behind the attack in my house, there were several phone threats I have received from people who are ringing me up from caves around the mountains surrounding the town, and hereby telling them that I am not a man who can be scared so easily like that” said Garaso the ex-mayor of Baladweyn town.

The former security Minister of the Somali government Omar Hashi Adan, the former ambassador to Somalia Abdikarim Laqanyo and several other Hiran elders were killed in suicide attack sometimes June this year in Baladweyn town which its responsibility was claimed by Al-Shabab movement.

Baladweyn town is under the control of both Somali government soldiers and the Al-Shabab movement, also the Ethiopian troops are at a place which is not far from the town.
