Mogadishu
Monday 17 August 2009

Forces loyal to the moderate Islamists faction of Ahlu-Sunnah
Waljama have on Monday morning taken control of Bula-Hawo
district at Gedo region in southern Somalia. Bula-Hawo district
geographically lies in the border between Somalia and Kenya,
and there is also great in anxiety in the other districts
in the region such as Luuq, Garbaharey and Bardere district
which are all under the command of the radical Islamists Al-Shabab.
There was no clash which has taken place between the
forces of Al-Shabab and Ahlu-Sunnah Waljama, and they have
peacefully seized the district without scaring away the inhabitants
of the district and firing a single fire in the air which
was in fact a good example which the inhabitants of the district
have welcomed, there are some reports which are saying that
the warriors of Ahlu-Sunnah Waljama have promptly established
new bases around the district and the whereabouts of the forces
of Al-Shabab is not manifest said Hajji Adan Mohammed
an elder in the town of Bula-Hawo district speaking to Somaliweyn
radio on Monday morning.
The elder has also added that the forces of Ahlu-Sunnah Waljama
have detached the black flag of Al-Shabab from every base
they had in the town and raised high the Somali Blue flag
with the beautiful Star in the middle.
Fly-by-night reports also say that the forces of Ahlu-Sunnah
Waljam are getting auxiliary from Ethiopian troops though
they is no single Ethiopian soldier sighted inside Bula-Hawo
district and even its surrounding areas.
There were reports which were lately emerging from Dolow
district which is a stronghold of combination of Somali government
soldiers and the forces of Ahlu-Sunnah Waljama, which have
both common concepts of eradicating Al-Shababs from the entire
of Somalia.
Bula-Hawo district was the gateway where 4 Action against
Hunger workers were passed when they have been kidnapped from
Mandera district in Kenya.
